• Use extreme caution when entering buildings.
• Sturdy shoes or boots are essential and carry a battery-powered torch - no open flames when examining buildings.
• Examine walls, floors, doors and windows carefully, you don't want the building collapsing on you - do you?
• Look out for loose plaster and ceilings that could fall.
• Take lots of photographs of your property and its contents for the inevitable insurance claim.
• Look out for fire hazards:
  • Broken or leaking gas pipes.
  • Flooded electrics.
  • Submerged electrical appliances.
